Exploring a devastated land under the Guild's orders

In Dungeon Settlers, players take on the role of a leader of an expedition dispatched by the Guild. Their core mission is to explore, conquer, and eliminate the source of the threats endangering the land: ancient dungeons. However, to secure enough manpower and resources for long-term campaigns, the first priority is to establish a sustainable settlement in a desolate region ravaged by magic.

Build and freely manage your settlement

The game features a flexible building system that lets players design rooms to meet their settlers' needs by placing walls and doors. Players can construct everything from bedrooms and communal dining areas to forges equipped with smelting furnaces and anvils. Farming to secure a food supply, managing resources efficiently, and producing essential provisions for long expeditions are all crucial to survival.

Through research, the settlement gradually unlocks new structures and more advanced equipment, laying a solid foundation for expeditions deeper underground.

Recruit characters and develop a tactical party

Each member of the expedition has an extensive stat system featuring six core attributes, unique talents, and dozens of combat and daily-life stats. Race, background, and personality further distinguish each character, such as a curious Lizardman with a wandering past.

Players can recruit promising candidates, train them as they level up, and equip them with suitable weapons and armor. An expedition party can include up to four members, with combinations of skill trees such as swordsmanship, mace combat, archery, and fire magic creating powerful synergies.

Real-time combat with pause functionality

Dungeon Settlers uses a real-time combat system that allows players to pause at any moment to plan their next move. Battles are not turn-based, requiring careful observation and analysis of enemy characteristics.

The combat system incorporates a wide range of effects and mechanics, including stun, bleeding, burning, taunting, exposing weaknesses, charged attacks, and summoning. Proper party positioning, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and activating abilities at the right moment can turn the tide even in the toughest battles. However, the challenge is heightened by permanent death: once a character falls in battle, they cannot be revived.

Procedurally generated dungeons and unforgiving challenges

Every dungeon expedition offers a unique experience thanks to procedurally generated room layouts, floors, and environmental effects that vary by area. The deeper players descend, the rarer the resources they can find, including valuable wood, herbs, gemstone deposits, and the mysterious mandrake plant. At the same time, the risk of encountering disasters increases accordingly.

Players will encounter remnants of ancient magical experiments, ranging from towering stone golems to dangerous acid-spewing monsters. They can also trade with merchants within the dungeons or face risky choices, such as sacrificing blood to an ancient tree in exchange for harvesting forbidden fruit.
