Following the success of the original game, the action RPG series Mortal Shell officially returns with a standalone sequel, Mortal Shell II. The game launched on Steam on August 20, 2026, promising a more intense and dramatic combat experience than its predecessor, along with a carefully crafted open world filled with depth and detail.

Your enemies' flesh and bones become your weapons

Built around the tagline "their flesh and bones are your weapons," Mortal Shell II continues to explore the core idea that helped define the original game: rather than controlling a fixed character, players "possess" Shells—the physical remains of fallen warriors—to fight and explore the world. In this sequel, eight forgotten warrior Shells are scattered throughout a ruined and desolate world. Players must seek out and possess each Shell to unlock its unique abilities while gradually uncovering the stories behind these characters through exploration and the unraveling of hidden secrets.

Freeform combat without stamina restrictions

One of the most notable changes in Mortal Shell II is the removal of the stamina limit during combat.
