A blend of colony management and first-person combat

In Pax Autocratica, players take on the role of an absolute ruler with complete control over their colony. The game revolves around two core gameplay elements: building and developing a self-sufficient colony while directly taking part in intense first-person battles.

Starting with a small group of survivors, players must establish a self-sufficient colony. Residents can be assigned a variety of tasks, including gathering resources, collecting materials, researching technologies, and producing equipment, weapons, and food.

Managing residents through fear or prosperity

The game's social management system is one of its key features. Players can maintain order through fear, propaganda, surveillance, and harsh punishments. Alternatively, they can adopt a more peaceful approach by providing residents with comfort, stability, and prosperity.

Every policy has a direct impact on the population's attitude. Residents may become loyal, grateful, fearful, or increasingly resistant to the regime. When dissatisfaction reaches a critical level, rebellions can erupt from within the colony.

Exploring the Tyris System and its FPS roguelite battlefields

To expand the colony, players must lead their forces into the fragmented regions of the Tyris System. These expeditions provide opportunities to gather resources, recruit new residents, trade with nomadic merchants, and eliminate threats in the surrounding areas.

Combat follows an FPS roguelite formula with bullet hell elements. Players fight alongside their troops across large battlefields, facing infantry, tanks, mechs, and defensive structures. Powerful enemies such as Sector Overlords can fill the sky with barrages of missiles, lasers, and complex bullet patterns.

Capturing enemies and upgrading through cores

During combat, weakened enemies can be captured and brought back to the base. There, the regime can punish, brainwash, or persuade them, turning them into loyal new residents or useful assets for the colony.

Each expedition also offers opportunities to customize and enhance the player's power by collecting different types of cores:

  • Weapon Cores: Modify how weapons function and alter their features.
  • Combination Cores: Create synergistic effects by combining different groups of cores.
  • Troop Cores: Enhance the combat abilities of accompanying troops or turn them into protective shields for the main character.

Although the game is still in its early stages, it already has a solid gameplay loop. Developer Multiverse plans to continue expanding and refining the project based on feedback from players.
