Experience the early 2000s school days in Agefield High: Rock the School
Developer Refugium Games has unveiled Agefield High: Rock the School, a school-themed adventure game set in a small town in the early 2000s. The game recreates the nostalgic atmosphere of teenage life through a story centered on friendship, romance, and rebellion.
A familiar school setting and coming-of-age story
In Agefield High: Rock the School, players take on the role of Sam, a student who moves to the town of Agefield with their family shortly before high school graduation. At the new Agefield High School, Sam meets Kale and Axel, a guy who calls himself a rock star.
Looking to leave behind a memorable legacy before graduating, Kale comes up with a plan called "Rock the School" and invites Sam to join. Players will spend their final months of high school with the group, facing various challenges and getting into plenty of awkward and hilarious situations along the way.
Time system and open-ended exploration
The game features a fixed schedule and school timetable. On weekdays, Sam is expected to attend classes until early afternoon. Players can choose to attend every class or skip school to roam freely and explore the town.
The world of Agefield High: Rock the School is designed as a small-scale open world featuring several key areas:
- Agefield High School campus.
- Two nearby residential neighborhoods.
- Downtown Agefield.
- The outskirts of town.
Players can earn spending money by getting high grades in their classes or skipping school to take on side quests. The money can be used to buy bicycles and clothing, change hairstyles, get tattoos, purchase accessories, or pick up entertainment magazines. However, skipping class or breaking the rules means players will have to avoid the attention of teachers and the police.
Key features
The game offers a variety of content for players to explore:
- Coming-of-age story: An 8- to 10-hour campaign centered on friendship, romance, and rebellion.
- Mission system: Includes 32 main missions with two different endings, along with 15 side missions and activities.
- Varied subjects: Five core classes: English, Mathematics, Geography, German, and Music.
- Customization: Shops around town allow players to buy bicycles, clothes, and accessories, as well as change their character's appearance.
Agefield High: Rock the School is developed and published by Refugium Games on Steam. The game is scheduled to officially launch on August 12, 2026.
