Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 reveals two playable characters and a new campaign
Developer Auroch Digital has officially unveiled Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, the sequel to the retro-style shooter that attracted considerable attention from the gaming community. Picking up directly after the original game, the sequel takes players to new, brutal battlefields in a single-player campaign featuring an extensive branching mission structure.
Two playable characters with distinct combat styles
In this installment, players can choose between two playable characters, each with unique abilities, weapons, and a distinctive approach to combat:
- Malum Caedo: A battle-hardened Ultramarines Sternguard Veteran renowned for his relentless crusade against heretics.
- Nyra Veyrath: An agile and deadly Celestian of the Sisters of Battle who specializes in using fire to incinerate enemies on the battlefield.
Explore entirely new locations
Players will journey across several worlds never before seen in the series. From the towering heights of a hive city to dense, swampy jungles and the depths of an Ark of Omen, each location presents unique challenges for players to overcome as they complete their missions.
A diverse arsenal and new enemies
Building on the explosive combat of its predecessor, the game offers an arsenal of heavy weapons designed to let players tear through enemy forces. From razor-sharp chainswords and powerful Bolters that blast enemies apart to streams of molten fire from flamethrowers, the weapons promise brutal, blood-soaked encounters.
The expanded arsenal is accompanied by entirely new enemies serving the four Chaos Gods: Nurgle, Tzeentch, Khorne, and Slaanesh. Ferocious Bloodletters, heavily armored Juggernauts, agile Daemonettes, and Noise Marines wielding devastating sonic weapons will push players to their limits.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is scheduled to launch on October 14, 2026, bringing more intense combat to fans of classic-style first-person shooters.
