Aniimo officially launches as a next-generation creature-collecting RPG
The creature-collecting RPG genre has welcomed a new-generation title with Aniimo. Developed and published by Pawprint Studio, this free-to-play open-world adventure officially launched on September 16, 2026. Set in a vibrant world and combining survival, building, and combat gameplay, Aniimo offers a fresh experience for players.
Exploring the vast continent of Idyll
In Aniimo, players take on the role of Pathfinders who venture into the vast continent of Idyll. The game world is designed to feel alive, with the environment, weather, natural phenomena, and day-night cycle directly affecting the appearance of different Aniimo.
Any creature encountered along the way can become a companion. Using tools such as the Aniipod and a variety of traps, capturing creatures requires precise timing, adding tension to every attempt. Most Aniimo can evolve, keeping exploration and collection engaging throughout the journey.
The game's traversal system is also designed for flexibility. Players can glide through the air, dive deep underwater, or burrow underground to reach every corner of the continent before stopping at a bustling city in the sky.
Twine mechanic: Becoming one with Aniimo
One of Aniimo's biggest distinguishing features is Twine. This mechanic allows Pathfinders to merge with any Aniimo they have collected. While merged, players can directly use the creature's unique abilities to solve challenging puzzles, overcome obstacles, or battle enemies. The mechanic not only opens up different approaches to objectives but also lets players experience the world from an entirely new perspective.
Egg Heist and intense PVEVP gameplay
Alongside solo exploration, Aniimo introduces randomized real-time challenges. One of the highlights is the PVEVP mode known as Egg Heist.
In this mode, players can form teams of three to search for and compete over Aniimo eggs in the Lost Isles. Combining player-versus-environment (PVE) encounters with player-versus-player (PVP) combat creates fast-paced battles that demand close teamwork and coordination.
A mobile home and a personal Homeland
Every Pathfinder in the game has their own recreational vehicle (RV). The RV can be parked at campsites throughout the open world, providing an ideal place to meet and interact with other players.
When returning to their personal Homeland, players can grow crops, craft decorative items, and freely arrange their living space alongside their Aniimo. The feature provides a relaxing break after intense hours of exploration and adventure.
