The story begins when Anne, a music-loving high school student, wakes up after an accident and realizes she is trapped in a massive underground cave network. This subterranean world is ruled by Zino—mysterious creatures resembling prehistoric dinosaurs. With support from her brother Ray, a professional dancer, Anne must rely on her intelligence and courage to find a way back to the surface.

Unique interaction mechanics with the Diana device

The highlight of Tokyo Scramble’s gameplay is a smart device called Diana. Players can download apps to interact with the environment, such as vending machines, traffic signals, solar panels, and cranes. Using these apps is key to distracting enemies, setting traps, and creating safe escape routes.

Explore the dangerous world of Zipang

Players will tackle 22 challenging stages in the forgotten world known as Zipang. Each area features distinct characteristics:

  • Yoyogi: Narrow steel beams suspended over deep chasms require perfect balance.
  • Zipang: Fog-filled caves where you must rely on sound to navigate while enemies lurk in the darkness.
  • Sengoku: A surreal space blending modern amusement parks with ancient Japanese architecture.

Game modes and new sharing features

Tokyo Scramble offers two main play styles: Hope (focused on thinking and puzzle-solving) and Despair (a brutal survival challenge).

Notably, the game supports the new GameShare feature on Nintendo Switch 2, allowing up to four players to join with a single copy of the game. Players can share controls or assist each other through an interactive pointer system during gameplay.
