Post-apocalyptic setting in 2050

The world of Carmageddon: Rogue Shift is a devastated wasteland after World War III. Humanity is hunted by The Wasted—ferocious mutated creatures that emerge after nightfall. The only way to escape this dying world is to win the Carmageddon tournament and secure a ticket to a space station beyond the mountain range.

Action gameplay with roguelite elements

The biggest change in this installment is its roguelite campaign structure. Each run offers a unique journey through procedurally generated maps. Players must plan their route strategically, stopping at Shops to repair vehicles, swap weapons, or install support perks.

  • Roguelite loop: When your vehicle is destroyed, a new driver takes over. You can spend Beatcoins earned during runs to unlock permanent upgrades at the Black Market.
  • Vehicle customization: The game features 15 upgradeable vehicles with FWD, RWD, and AWD drivetrains, each with unique weight and suspension systems.
  • Heavy weapon arsenal: With 13 weapon types ranging from shotguns to railguns, players have countless ways to eliminate opponents.

Facing brutal enemies

On the road, you will battle gangs like Autoscum and corrupt law enforcement units known as Enforcers. Each district is controlled by a Boss—massive, heavily armed vehicles that you must defeat to progress further.

Realistic visuals and damage effects

Carmageddon: Rogue Shift stands out with its detailed physical damage system. Windshields, hoods, doors, and bumpers can deform, dent, or fall off after each impact. A dynamic weather system and day-night cycle also affect visibility and road grip, adding extra challenge and immersion.

Content warning: Carmageddon: Rogue Shift contains intense violence, gore, and mature content that may not be suitable for children or workplace environments.

As of February 7, 2026, players can purchase and play Carmageddon: Rogue Shift on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox to begin their survival race today.
