Soulbound: Online brings a fresh blend of MMORPG and Roguelite gameplay

If you're looking for a game that combines the large-scale social experience of an MMORPG with the unpredictable gameplay of a Roguelite, Soulbound: Online is worth checking out. Released in Early Access on Steam on July 21, 2026, this pixel-art adventure promises exciting co-op journeys with friends.

Soulbound: Online divides its world into two distinct experiences: a vast open overworld where thousands of players can live and interact together, and challenging instanced dungeons where every run offers a completely new adventure.

A unique mix of MMORPG and Roguelite

The defining feature of Soulbound: Online is its dual gameplay loop. Every time you enter a dungeon, room layouts, enemies, traps, and loot are procedurally generated. Combat follows a fast-paced survivor-like and bullet-heaven style, encouraging teamwork and quick decision-making.

Back in the overworld, the pace becomes more relaxed. This is where players gather to accept quests, trade with others, and develop a variety of life skills.

Build your own playstyle with more than 100 relic combinations

Unlike traditional MMORPGs, Soulbound: Online does not lock players into a fixed class. Your build is determined entirely by the equipment and skills you choose:

  • Flexible character classes: Switching gear effectively changes your class. You can serve as a tank protecting your team one day, then become a spellcaster dealing massive area damage the next.
  • Dynamic relic system: During dungeon runs, collecting and stacking relics transforms the way your abilities work. For example, you can add chain lightning to a Mage's Pyrosphere spell or grant life steal to a Berserker's attacks.
  • Multiplayer co-op: Team up with up to three players in standard Roguelite dungeons, or form parties of five or more to take on powerful raid bosses.

Activities outside the dungeons play an important role in strengthening your character:

  • Diverse life skills: Farming and fishing provide ingredients for cooking meals that restore stamina, while mining and resource gathering supply materials for crafting new weapons and equipment.
  • Independent cosmetic customization: The game separates stat-based equipment from cosmetic slots, allowing players to freely customize pixel-art armor, accessories, and companion pets without sacrificing character power.
  • Personal housing: Every player owns a private base called Virelda. Here, you can place crafting stations, forge equipment, brew potions, decorate your home, and eventually expand it into a guild base with friends.
