Windrose officially launches in early access: a new pirate era begins

On April 14, 2026, the survival adventure game Windrose officially launched in Early Access on PC. Set in a fictional pirate era, the game blends building, crafting, and intense combat across both land and sea.

From an unknown captain

In Windrose, players begin as a bold captain willing to challenge the legend of Blackbeard. The story starts with survival and revenge, gradually pulling you into conflicts between empires, pirate factions, and mysterious dark forces rising from the depths.

The game world is procedurally generated, featuring diverse biomes with over 100 dungeons and handcrafted points of interest filled with treasures and deadly traps.

Build your fleet and stronghold

The gameplay of Windrose focuses on freedom and deep customization:

  • Ship management: Players can own and customize a variety of ships, from agile small boats to massive frigates. The combat system allows seamless transitions between long-range cannon fire and close-quarters boarding battles.
  • Settlement development: Build anything from simple shelters to fortified strongholds. Recruiting NPCs helps speed up resource gathering and production at your base.

Solo and cooperative gameplay

Windrose supports offline single-player mode as well as cooperative play with up to 8 players. However, for optimal performance—especially in the later stages—the developer recommends playing in a group of four.
