Moving beyond the franchise’s traditional battle-focused formula, the game introduces a poetic and creative life simulation experience.

Reviving a forgotten world with Ditto

In Pokémon Pokopia, players take on the role of a very unusual protagonist: a Ditto that has just awakened after a long slumber. The story unfolds in a world where humans have vanished, leaving behind barren lands and a lonely researcher named Professor Tangrowth. Your mission is to use Ditto’s signature transformation ability to restore nature and build a true utopia for Pokémon.

Gameplay that blends transformation and crafting

The most distinctive feature of Pokémon Pokopia lies in its transformation mechanics. Instead of capturing Pokémon for battle, Ditto learns abilities from nearby friends to interact with the environment:

  • Use Leafage from Bulbasaur to help grass sprout and bring life back to the land.
  • Transform into Lapras to Surf across large bodies of water.
  • Take the form of Dragonite to Glide through the sky and survey the landscape from above.

Alongside this, the collect and craft system allows players to gather materials to create furniture and useful items. You can farm crops, design gardens, and build cozy living spaces that attract other Pokémon such as Abra, Squirtle, and unusual variants like Peakychu and Mosslax to settle in your growing community.

4K visuals and connected gameplay

Built specifically to harness the power of the Nintendo Switch 2, Pokémon Pokopia features vibrant visuals and advanced lighting effects. The game goes beyond solo play, allowing players to build larger homes and invite friends to visit through online multiplayer or local wireless.

Notably, the GameShare feature lets you invite others to join the experience even if they are using the original Nintendo Switch or do not own a copy of the game.

Early player rewards

To celebrate the launch, early adopters of Pokémon Pokopia will receive a limited decorative item called the Ditto rug through the Mystery Gift feature. This promotion will be available until January 31, 2027, for both physical and digital versions of the game.

Pokémon Pokopia is now available through online stores and retail partners worldwide, marking what could be a bright beginning for the next generation of Nintendo consoles.
